I wandered around the Legendary Maker's Market yesterday and today in central Beaverton; but today I also went into a panel session that they had with Asian-American journalists (and an opinion page editor).
It was a good session, and I learned a lot about how journalists get stories to work on and how to pitch an opinion piece or letter-to-the-editor.
But, at the end, I asked a question about what they would do if the worst case scenario came to pass: in a few years they would lose their jobs and couldn't find any new ones to due to all of the current media organizations cutting positions and churning out AI slop.
They all said that was their nightmare scenario, hoped it wouldn't happen, and tried not to think about it.
